~Gingham Dress~

HEY!

So after a long time I finally have a new post....

Don't ask why I'm so slow....

no motivation I guess...

Todays post is:

~Gingham Dress~

I have finally finished my latest dress after a week or so brake...

I will work on some better shots in a little while once accessories are all finished too.

I used 3 different patterns for this dress. I used 1,3 and 5 of the 乙女のソーイングBOOK series.

My absolute favourite dress making series.

Time for some progress photos!

My first design sheet. Showing the accessories to make, I am not sure if I will make the half bonnet or not. I feel the gingham print is a little too much for a delicate item. 

First big and only problem I had was sorting out the top pattern.....Having a cat and trying to make clothes is almost impossible 

Next after cutting out  was to sew on the bottom lace to the skirt....It took a long time >.< I later had to remove the ribbon and add in my own

In the design sheet I made for this there was 3 major points that had to be in this dress, the pin tucks in the bodice, the half bodice design and the lace on the dress. A lot of other things I changed like the lace and ribbon around the top of the bodice

I managed to forget to take the buttons to my boyfriends house so I had to wait till I got home to add the waist ties properly. This was a simple thrown together look. Wearable but not finished.

I think I shall call it Country Gingham.

I posted a picture of it almost finished on Twitter and had a lovely Japanese lolita comment on how it looked rather country stylish.  so I feel that should be a good name for it. 

After I have finished the accessories my next dress is this sort of style in a pink colour. I am not a fan of pink at all but the idea of a country cute dress for Hanami next year is what I want.

I pan to use the pattern I used from the 乙女のソーイングBOOK5 with this skirt for the next one. I feel want this dress to be one of its own. 

Like my strawberry jumperskirt.
